Gus Triantafillopoulos is the founder of Trianta Law and a trusted leader in personal injury and insurance litigation. He has built his career on a clear mission: delivering strategic, compassionate, and results‑driven advocacy for individuals facing life‑altering injuries and unfair treatment from insurers.


Before founding Trianta Law, Gus spent many years working as a lawyer on behalf of insurance companies. This experience gave him an insider’s understanding of how insurers operate—how they assess risk, evaluate claims, and develop defence strategies. Today, he uses that knowledge to level the playing field for his clients, anticipate obstacles before they arise, and build cases that stand up to even the most sophisticated defence teams.


Gus represents clients in all areas of personal injury and insurance disputes, including motor vehicle accidents, accident benefits, slip and falls, long‑term disability claims, and other complex matters. He has appeared before the Superior Court of Justice, the Divisional Court, and the Licence Appeal Tribunal, where he is known for his meticulous preparation, persuasive advocacy, and unwavering commitment to achieving meaningful results.

Shannon Kelly Hon. B.A., J.D.

Personal Injury Lawyer

Shannon Kelly brings a strong litigation background and a deep understanding of the insurance industry to her work at Trianta Law. She earned her Honours Bachelor of Arts from the University of Toronto before completing her Juris Doctor at the Shepard Broad College of Law in Florida.

 

Before entering law, Shannon worked as an insurance adjuster for several major insurers. This experience gives her unique insight into how insurance companies assess claims and make strategic decisions—knowledge she now uses to advocate effectively for injured individuals and anticipate defence tactics.

 

During law school, Shannon completed a competitive internship with the Miami‑Dade Public Defender’s Office, gaining valuable courtroom and advocacy experience. She was called to the Florida Bar in 2016 and the Ontario Bar in 2018.

 

Shannon has represented clients before the Superior Court of Justice, the Divisional Court, and the Licence Appeal Tribunal. She is known for her thorough preparation, strategic thinking, and commitment to securing fair, timely results for her clients.

 

Shannon has been part of Trianta Law since its founding and continues to play an integral role in the firm’s growth and client‑focused approach.

Risha Maharaj

Person Injury Claims Specialist

Risha Maharaj brings more than 13 years of specialized Accident Benefits experience to Trianta Law. Before joining the firm, she spent over a decade managing complex, high‑value claims for a major insurance company, including catastrophic impairment (CAT) files, constitutional challenges, and other contentious disputes.


Her extensive insurer‑side background gives her a rare advantage: a deep understanding of how insurance companies assess claims, identify risks, and make decisions. Risha uses this insight to anticipate challenges, strengthen files from the outset, and guide clients through the Accident Benefits system with clarity and confidence.


Known for her exceptional client service and practical, solutions‑focused approach, Risha provides steady, informed support to individuals navigating difficult and often overwhelming circumstances. Her expertise enhances Trianta Law’s ability to deliver strategic, compassionate, and results‑driven representation.

Sarah Johnstone

Licensed Paralegal

Sarah Johnstone is a Licensed Paralegal with the Law Society of Ontario and a graduate of Ontario Tech University’s Bachelor of Arts in Legal Studies program. Since joining Trianta Law, she has developed strong, hands‑on experience in both accident benefits and tort matters, supporting clients through every stage of their personal injury claims.


Sarah brings a detail‑oriented, organized, and proactive approach to her work. Julia De Francesca

Law Clerk

Julia De Francesca brings over a decade of experience in personal injury law to Trianta Law. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from York University and completed the Law Clerk program at Humber College, giving her a strong academic and practical foundation for her work.


Julia plays a key role in advancing personal injury files efficiently and strategically. She is highly organized, detail‑driven, and skilled at managing the procedural demands of both accident benefits and tort matters. Her ability to keep files moving forward, anticipate next steps, and maintain clear communication helps ensure that clients’ cases progress smoothly toward resolution.

Alyssa holds a Bachelor’s degree in Criminology from Toronto Metropolitan University, a background that supports her work in a fast‑paced legal environment.
